Located at 116 Jackson Avenue, in the place many of us call Ganges.

Ganges is called SYOW̱T in the SENĆOŦEN language and Shiya’hwt in Hul’q’umi’num’.

Salt Spring Island is unceded Coast Salish Territory which has never been formally surrendered or sold via treaty with any colonial government.

The island is part of a region where shared use, kinship ties, and colonial displacement means that many nations have stewarded this land for millennia. Tsartlip, Tseycum, Pauquachin, Tsawout, and Malahat are the SENĆOŦEN-speaking nations. Penelakut, Halalt, Lyackson, Cowichan, and Tsawwassen are the Hul’q’umi’num’- speaking nations.
